HoneyBear Crosses Her Paws for August 5 Leg Surgery

Thursday, August 5th is the day of my leg surgery. As you can see, I am crossing my paws for a successful operation and quick recovery. My foster mom hopes that all of my new friends will say a special prayer, light a candle, sing a soul song or think a happy thought for me on that day (and for days to follow.) She says that I’ll soon be up on my own ‘toezees’.

My next update will hopefully be in a week when I am resting comfortably and able to share specific details with everyone. Mom says that I am probably the luckiest and most loved little rescue dog in the world right now. She is smart that way ya know!

  1. HoneyBear, we are so happy for you that you will have your surgery soon. It will be so great to have those little legs feeling better. We will say a special prayer for you! You are very loved and your foster Mommy is such a special person.

  2. Thank you my furever friend! I've been sleeping just fine lately, but mom isn't. She is a worry-wart by nature and probably won't rest until I am safe and sound healing comfortably in my little play pen.

  3. Oh, my Mommy is the same way. She is such a worry-wart that she worries about us even when we're healthy!
I'm going to send good thoughts of relaxation to your Mom.

  5. Hi HoneyBear, I found out about you from Twinkie the little chihuahua in California, my name is Draco, I live with my family in Colorado. We are sooooo glad that you landed in Open Arms and you will get a chance to find out how wonderful it is to have people love you and not be mean.
My Family and I will be thinking good thoughts for you on your operation fix day and the days after while you get all better.

  6. Thank you! I know she appreciates it. Tomorrow, August 4, is my Mom's birthday. She says that the best present she could receive is a HoneyBear up on her own two front feet very soon. Dad is taking the day off on Thursday (my surgery day) so they both can drive me an hour away to the Jacksonville clinic. Dad supports my Mom's passion for rescuing dogs in need. He fell in love with me just like Mom did.

Well Cupcake, look for an update just as soon as Mom or I can get to the computer again after the big day we have all been waiting for. You are a true fur-friend.
    Luv ~ HoneyBear

  8. Hi Draco,
Chihugs to you and thanks for caring about me. I'm anxious to learn more about you and your name. Mom loves looking up new names for her rescue dogs. A Draco has never come to Open Arms, but who knows!?! Gotta go; I hear Dad in the kitchen getting bedtime treats for us!
    Luv ~ HoneyBear
